The MiMo Festivals December 4th 2011 March 5th 2011 November 28th 2010 December 4th 2011 brought us The MiMo Art in the Park festival, also known as the Great MiMo chalk-in. Historic Legion Park, a centerpiece of MiMo Boulevard located at 66th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, sprung to life Sunday, December 4, 2011 when the MiMo Biscayne Association inaugurated its sixth festival: MIMO ART IN THE PARK: THE GREAT MIMO CHALK‐IN. The MiMo Chalk‐in welcomed artists of all ages to participate in designing The MiMo Districts largest chalk mural on the grand walkway of the park. In addition to the Chalk‐in, festival goers enjoyed visiting Legion Park, the center of the Historic MiMo District. The entrance to the park at 66th Street is a tree‐lined natural setting with an expanse leading to Biscayne Bay. The historic coral rock house in the park is the center of operations for park programs. Colorful music will feature local performers on the Legion Park grand stage and great gourmet food at the festival‐ or at MiMo Restaurants along the Boulevard in the historic MiMo District from 50th to 77th Streets. Highlights for children include magicians, jugglers, face painters and clowns. Plus children of all ages will enjoy the Legion Park facilities that include playgrounds and basketball courts. Sunday, November 28ths Festival brought you a festival of the arts. Just in time to kick off the Miami arts season. We are proud to present the first festival of its kind in Miami highlighting local and interactive art. ART being the acronym for ART - RESTAURANTS - MUSIC and there will be plenty of each. Saturday, March 5th, 2011, featured the 4th annual MiMo Biscayne Boulevard Historic District's open air street festival. MiMo Madness with a full day of live music, performers, vendors, food, antique & muscle cars and many surprises. We are told that each year it becomes bigger and better! As always the street atmosphere along with patio dining at our restaurants is inviting for children at heart of all ages and their pets as well. Check the MiMo Tour calendar as historic tours of the area are offered by our association members and proud area residents during the cool months of the year American Legion Memorial Park, 6447 Biscayne, is becoming the place where locals and visitors meet at 10am on Saturday mornings for a free one hour yoga class. This park is in close proximity to shopping and restaurants.
